BLACK AND WHITE: Pauline Nolte of San Ramon wanted to avoid decisions about wood types and finishes, so she went for all white cabinets and black countertops. Her first choice was red cabinets from Ikea, but after being advised that at some distant future time it could hurt the resale value, she chose to make red an accent color. "Love the bright and cheery look with my favorite color at every turn," Nolte says. Plus, the design is flexible enough that she can change the mood by changing the accessories. Have you remodeled anything lately? Please send us before and after photos with a few details on what work was done and how you like it.
