Gregg, Ruth V.

May 10, 1911 - May 12, 2008 Resident of Oakland Passed away at her Oakland home on Monday, May 12, 2008. She was 97 years old. Beloved wife, of 29 years, to the late Harry E. Gregg. She was born in Tonapah, Nevada on May 10, 1911 to Henry and Mary A. (Walsh) De Bock. She owned and operated two beauty salons. One in the Diamond District of Oakland and one in Sacramento. She also owned and operated the well known De Bock Kennels of Oakland. She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, traveling and going to the Friendship Circle where she enjoyed time with her friends. Ruth, most of all, loved the time spent with her family. She is survived by her daughters LaVonne Harrison and Marline Heath and her son Roy H. Gregg. Her Grandchildren Daniel Harrison, Jeanette Pizzi, Georgie Harrison, Douglas Harrison, Jayna Harrison, Mathew Heath, Julie Johnson, Joshua Gregg, Lucas Gregg and Rebecca Gregg. Also, Ten Great Grandchildren, One Great Great Grandchild, plus many Nieces and Nephews. A viewing will be held at the Chapel of the Chimes, Piedmont Avenue, on Monday, May 19, 2008 between 1:00 and 4:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the Mountain View Cemetary, Piedmont Ave, on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your charity of choice in remembrance.
