Pappas, Christina
May 16, 2008
Nov. 10, 1926 - May 15, 2008 Wife, Mother, Yia Yia, Thea and Nouna to several Godchildren; Chris, as she was known to her friends, has passed on in peace and sadness. Her fight is over after much effort to stay with us for as long as she could. The struggle to remain is cherished by those who love her, miss her and remain here on this earth without her; it will never be the same world. Her devotion to her late husband and children, parents, grandchildren and friends was unique and clearly identifiable in her nature. Her warmth and honesty were as pure and faithful as her lovely smile. Her radiant beauty, her genuine kindness, her sincerity, her ability to touch the hearts of people who met her for the first time, to bring a beam of light into their lives was infinite. Her presence anywhere made a difference. Born November 10th, 1926 in San Francisco, to Greek immigrant parents Demetra (Denise) and Constantine (Gus) Asimakopoulos; departed on May 15th, 2008 at age 81, with her children at her bed side. She has now, finally been reunited with her loving husband, the late Nick John Pappas. Christina is survived by her children; son John Stephen Pappas, daughter Denise Ann Pappas, her grandchildren, granddaughter Nicole Pappas Johnson, grandson Ricky Kirwin Johnson and James Joseph Assia, who was like a second grandson, and her siblings, brother Chris Asimos, and sister Pat (Athena) Sedam. Mom, Yia Yia, we will never outgrow our need for your love, your smile, your hugs, your warm heartedness, we will always love you we will always need you. Christina Pappas at peace at last; the fear is gone, the love lives on.
